The feel
Bali's polished restaurant and beach-club strip. Boutiques, spas and sunsets, with Petitenget and Umalas quieter and more residential just behind it.
Getting around
Everything is on two main roads — Jl. Kayu Aya (Oberoi) and Jl. Petitenget — which jam badly at sunset. Short hops are often faster on foot or by Gojek bike.
Eating and drinking
The densest concentration of good restaurants on the island, plus beach clubs on the sand at Petitenget and Double Six.
Worth knowing
Beach has strong currents and no reef; watch the flags. Prices are the highest in Bali outside Nusa Dua.
